|Born in England in 1946, I moved to New Zealand with my parents and older brother at the age of four and, apart from five years in my late twenties spent travelling the globe, have lived here ever since. After a fairly rudimentary education, I found work as an Architectural Designer and this became a life-long occupation.
All my life I have been interested in the exploration of space, particularly the technology involved, and have an extensive library on the subject. When reading for pleasure, I generally stick to science-fiction or classic detective stories in the Agatha Christie or Ngaio Marsh mould.
My wife and I have two adult children who are doubtless embarrassed by my belated interest in becoming an author, but are far too polite to say so.
My foray into writing began late in 2006 and is the result of trying to occupy the time between my dog ‘kitty’ (don’t ask!) waking me at six, and getting my wife Jude’s breakfast at eight.
For some insight into my views on Science Fiction I’ve posted an article I wrote in 2000 for Salient magazine. It can be found here.
